The Minister is seeking an experienced Chair with strong skills in leadership, relationship management and communication to lead the Board. A genuine interest in social investment will be vital. The Chair is expected to set a culture of open engagement and respect on the Board as well as work openly and transparently with the Minister for Social Investment and the Social Investment Agency.
For the member positions, the Minister is seeking to appoint individuals who collectively demonstrate:
- Strong understanding of social investment, public finance and/or commissioning models
- Extensive understanding of how to contract for social outcomes
- Connection to, and deep experience with, vulnerable communities and community organisations delivering social services
- Developed understanding of the social sciences
- Commitment to the use of data and evidence to inform service design, delivery and evaluation in the social sector
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and knowledge of mātauranga Māori and how it contributes to understanding social outcomes.
